Special Projects:

Demolition Project

Do you remember the stories … heads being flushed down the loo, those big bad bullies, or maybe just the fear of the unknown?

Moving up to 'the big school' can be a terrifying ordeal. Wizard Stories Demolition Project demolishes the myths and dismantles the fears associated with the transitions from KS1 to KS2 and from KS2 to KS3.

Wizard Stories Demolition Project links Infant Schools with their designated feeder Junior School, and/or links Junior Schools with their designated feeder Secondary School.

Through storytelling and drama the group construct a piece of theatre which examines their anxieties regarding moving to Junior/Secondary School. An informal sharing of the groups work will close the project. After sharing their work to the pupils of their own school, the Infant or Junior school children travel to the school they will be joining and will perform their drama piece before an invited audience of the schools children, staff, and governors.

The performance gives the children an opportunity to celebrate their work, and also a chance to view the school that they will be attending at the beginning of the forthcoming academic year. They will also be able to meet some of the staff particularly their future form tutors.

Duration: Wizard would work with you to construct your ideal project.

Size of group: Ideally Class Sized Groups.

“It was excellent in helping the children come to terms with change.…and the kids had a blast!!”
