Chapter 5 - page 2On Tuesday afternoon Glenda was sitting on the eggs she had laid whilst talking to the Ministers of Eggucation, and the Minister of the Eggviroment, there came a knock at the door. Enter said Glenda with a stately squawk. In walked her friend Pauline the pig and her 12 children. Pauline! shouted Glenda, What are you doing here? Well, said Pauline, As I heard you were making laws for not killing any more chickens I thought you might be able to help me. Pauline brook down and cried. Why the tears? asked Glenda. They are going to kill my children, it has taken us days to walk here, and the dangers have been oh so real, please help me. Within seconds, Glenda picked up the phone and made a law banning the killing of all animals. News of Glendas new laws quickly spread and by Friday morning there were hundreds of animals standing outside Number Ten. They were cheering, and shouting for Glenda to come outside, to meet the animals whose lives she had changed. Glenda felt a little embarrassed, all she had done was pick the phone up and changed the law. She relented and went to the balcony at the back of Number Ten, where all the animals had gathered. She opened the double doors and when she looked down she could see so many animals she was aghast. The cheering was so loud some of the smaller animals covered their ears. Thank you, thank you, thank you all for coming to see me. You make me feel so . |
