Chapter Three

A Gruesome Discovery

It was a cold morning, the mist was still hovering over the green fields, and the cobwebs were still wearing their pearls of dew. Glenda felt sad but also very excited about her future. She could hear in the distance Leonard screaming ‘Cock-a-doodle-doo’ back on Warner’s farm. Glenda shook herself and took off into the heavens, she had no idea where she would end up as she flew she could see Harriet the Horse talking to two small children from the village and as she got higher in the sky, she could see for miles.

After two exhausting hours of flying Glenda had to land to get food and drink. She had spotted an odd looking place where there was smoke coming out of chimneys and a weird smell that made Glenda feel slightly sick, and there were more humans than she had ever seen in all her life. They all seem to be in a great hurry, crowding into a funny looking building. As Glenda got closer to the building she could see a picture of a chicken, Glenda thought I have seen that picture before but could not remember where, then it clicked. It was on the side of that talent scout’s van, ‘He must be here!’ thought Glenda, ‘Oh, he’s bound to be pleased to see me!’
