Chapter 2 - page 4Glenda lay awake that night with the words echoing in her head I will get you bird, you see if I dont. Glenda shivered. She knew she could not stay at the Warners farm any longer; she decided she had to leave. The next morning before the farmers wife was awake, Glenda said good-bye to all her friends, there was tears, hugs, flapping, and squawking and pats on the back all round. We will all miss you Glenda, said Leonard. I will miss you all too, but I will come back someday when I have fought for the right for all chickens to be treated as chickens. Glenda got her belongings and headed for the coop door, she turned and looked back at her friends she had known since she was a chick all those years ago, and with a tear in her eye, shut the coop door maybe forever. |
